I have one tenant who is always late with the rent, so the daily late fees (which I LOVE) tend to build up. When he does give me money for rent, I have to manually select several of the daily late fees and calculate how much is left for a partial rent payment.
My preference would be to type the full payment amount at the top and automatically select each of the charges in the following order:
1) Oldest rent not fully paid (Jan rent is fully paid in the middle of Feb). This will stop the Jan late fees when the rent is fully paid.
2) Late fees from the oldest rent month (e.g. Jan late fees, even if they were charged in Feb).
3) If there's still more to the payment, then begin a partial payment on the next month of rent (Feb). Etc.
When he's more than 1 month late with the rent, the late fee for Jan rent LOOKS identical to the late fee for Feb rent. I end up having to select every other late fee.
